Happy Birthday VS Rainbow Connection..................

A few days ago I posted a NOTD using the beautiful Rainbow Connection from the OPI Muppet's Collection.

I mentioned that I thought it was a pretty good Dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday.
A few of you said you would like a comparison, so here we are....

You can see that in the bottle, they look very, very similar. I think the main difference is the larger glitter in RC. Also I think that HB may have a little more red in it.

Here are some swatches....

L To R
Happy Birthday 1 Coat,
Happy Birthday 2 Coats,
Rainbow Connection 1 Coat and
Rainbow Connection 2 Coats.

You can see the larger hexagonal glitter in RC, with medium and micro glitter. Where as HB is micro with round medium size glitter.

There is no doubting that they are ridiculously similar, almost so much that had I realised how similar, I wouldn't have got both. No doubting they are both gorgeous and I really feel its personal preference as to which you prefer.

Hope you have enjoyed this post :))

ELF Smokey Eye Palette, review and swatches.........

So, ages ago in the ELF 50% sale I bought the Smokey Eye Palette.
Its a beautiful palette with colours from soft blue all the way to a gorgeous purple.
You can actually win this palette in my Giveaway HERE

As you can see this is a little different from your traditional smokey eye palette as it has a soft blue. There is also the gorgeous purple I already mentioned and the black has a lovely soft glitter running through it. Just enough to make your eyes sparkle but not make you look to OTT.

And now the fun part, the swatches.....
Natural light
With Flash

You can see the glitter in both shots and just how subtle it is.
If I'm 100% honest I'm not a massive fan of the white ( top left) as I feel its just a little to chalky for my taste.

I think this is a great start out palette for those a little frightened of colour or smokey eyes as its very build ble and with the blue a bit different.

The Palette costs £3.49 and is available from
in the UK.

Or you can enter my giveaway and be in with a chance to win it, he he.

Have a sparklicious day!!

Orly Birds of A Feather Foul Play NOTD...........

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!
Hope you are all enjoying the holidays and having a spooky Halloween!
My NOTD is dark and Delicious in honour of the day.

Orly's Fowl Play

OPI Nail Envy Base Coat
Orly Fowl Play 3 Coats

This is one of the polishes from the Birds Of A Feather Collection that Orly recently released.
Its a deep berry colour with Orange flakies that flash red, yellow and green. There is also some micro glitter in this Jelly based polish.
It was a bit of a pain to apply, it definitely needs 3 coats as its still a little patchy after 2.
I do like this colour, but I must admit, I think I love it in the bottle more than on my nails......

What do you think??

NOTD Rainbow Connection, Sparklicious.............

My NOTD is totally Sparklicious, its Rainbow Connection from the latest OPI Muppet's collection.

L To R
OPI Nail Envy Base - 1 Coat
OPI for Sephora Whats A Tyre Jack? - 2 Coats
OPI Rainbow Connection - 2 Coats

Now this I think is just fab!!! Its soooo sparkly and perfect for the holiday season.
I cant wait to try out Rainbow connection over some other colours, I think it will look great over white don't you? Rainbow Connection applies really nicely and dries quite smooth, 1 coat of top coat was more than enough. I love the fact that it gas chunky and small glitter. It does remind me an awful lot of Deborah Lippmann's Happy Birthday. If you want me to do a comparison let me know.

Anyway have a sparklicious day!!!!

Fashionist Custom Palettes.............

Hey everyone!!! Hope you have all had a fab day!!

Today I am sharing with you a review on the FashionistA Custom Design Palette and some of the gorgeous eye shadows in the range that I received at TOWIB.
FashionistA is a new range available exclusively at Superdrug. One of the main items in the range is the fantastic custom Design Palettes. They come in 2 colours, black and red.
You can choose to have either blushes or eye shadows, or a mixture of both in your palettes.

The beauty is that you get to choose.

Here is my palette.

The eye shadows come in sturdy little black cases that would be fab to chop and change your shadows and blushes around.

I love, love, love the design on the cover of the palette, here the flash has highlighted the text. It just looks so sleek.

The shadows slot in easily and nice and securely into the palette.
The 4 shades I have are, top row left to right Golden Glow and Auburn Glow and bottom row left to Right Berry Brown and Brunette Bombshell.

From the word go Brunette Bombshell was a hit with me, it was love at first sight and when I swatched it I was even more besotted. Its a great colour and the pigmentation is fantastic.

With flash L To R
Golden Glow, Auburn Glow, Berry Brown and Brunette Bombshell.

Natural Light

You can see how great the pigmentation is with these shadows. They are fantastic quality and last fantastically on the eyes. They don't crease and the colour stays true all day.

The FashionistA is available from selected Superdrug stores or Online here.
At the moment they are on 3 for 2.
The shadows and blushes are £4.00 each and the custom Design Palettes are £5.00.
I think this is fantastic value as you really can mix and match to suit yourself and your life style. I think these palettes will be fab for holidays.

Can a lipgloss brighten your smile???.........

I'm sure you will all of seen these Smile Enhancing glosses by Bourjois recently. I got this one about a month ago and have been seeing what I think.

The gloss has two ends, one with a traditional gloss, all be it a sparkly one lol, and the other end has a teeth whitening gel.
The gel has particles that are meant to make your teeth appear whiter and your smile in turn brighter.

the colour I chose was a very pale pink, ideal for layering over lipsticks. As you can see from the swatch it has very little colour. The full range does have more intense colours there are 6 available in total, this was just the one I was draw to.

Now as I said I got this about a month ago, in that time I have worn the gloss several times, applying the gel to my teeth.

Here are some before and afters....
Please excuse the scary smile!!! lol

Now in all honesty I can not see any difference with my teeth. I do however really like the gloss. Its not at all sticky which is fab, but does mean that you will need to reapply more often than with some glosses.

I think if you are buying this gloss because you like the colour that's fab, also the teeth gel does refresh your mouth with minty freshness so is quite cute. I just dont think the brightening agents give enough of a difference to actually give a whiter smile....

At £8.99 they are on the slightly more pricey side for a drugstore gloss too.

Have you try the Smile Enhancing Lipgloss by Bourjois??

What did you think??

We wear Pink on Wednesdays NOTD with a OPI Twist.........

I cant believe its Wednesday again already, I dont know where the time goes.......

Now this isnt an obvious choice for Pink Wednesday, but trust me all will become clear....

You can see the tiny micro glitter in the polish, its baby pink and soooo pretty. It makes what looks like a plain gray polish have a beautiful soft pink sheen.

What I used....
OPI Nail Envy Base Coat
OPI Steady As She Rose - 2 Coats
OPI Its Totally Fort Worth It - 1 Coat

As you can see I layered the pale gray over Steady As She Rose, this gave more of a pinky tone all round. I am totally in love with this combo, really pleased I tried it out. I love the micro glitter in Totally Fort Worth It, the polish is very sheer so I do think its one that I will layer as im not a fan of sheer polishes.

So happy Pink Wednesday, dont forget to follow the link on the left of my page for more fabulous Pink Wednesday manicures.

The most beautiful Chanel Eyeshadow, EVER........

Back in the days before my spending ban I saw this amazing eye shadow, Michele1218 on YouTube reviewed and used this shadow and that just sold me.
I love Taupe shadows, they are the perfect every day shade for me, I love the way they make my eyes look and how versatile they are.
I haven't bought any Chanel shadows for a good few years so I was also keen to try them out.

So here is the beloved Fauve shadow by Chanel

As you know I'm a real sucker for packaging and this is no different. The sleek black compact with the cute velvet pouch is stunning, even before opening the compact i was hooked, lol.
The shadow itself is a mauve toned taupe. Its silky smooth to touch and glides onto your eyelids beautifully. Its very highly pigmented to and has just the right amount of shimmer.

Natural Light

Since I have had this ( I bought it 5 weeks ago but because of a muck up only received it last week!!!) I have worn it nearly every day, its just beautiful and I have to say I think my favourite eyeshadow ever!!! A bold statement I know but none the lest, this beauty has wooed me!! lol

The shadow costs a mighty £21.00 but is worth every penny.
You can get Chanel from your local Chanel counter or online from Boots and other retailers.

Have you tried the Soft Touch shadows by Chanel?? What do you recommend??

Red October, VIVO Red, Red................

So today's and my last lipstick for Red October is VIVO's Red, Red.

Now I was lucky enough to receive this as as part of the goodie bag from TOWIB1 event.

It is a soft red shade with slight crimson tones.
The finish is a little more sheer than some of the others and applies beautifully.

This lipstick gives a lovely soft look to the lips. I love how it is a Red but almost looks soft....
Its really moisturising and lasts really well on the lips.

This is the first lipstick I have tried by VIVO and I'm really impressed.
I think for anyone a bit scared of Red this would be a good place to start as I think its really easy to wear as its not a cream finish.

What do you think?? Have you tried the fab VIVO lipsticks yet???
